María Carrasco Gil began her musical education at the age of 8 in Tarazona, her hometown. In 2012, she graduated from the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón with the highest grades in violin, and two years later, she obtained a Master's degree in Pedagogy from the University of Zaragoza. Her interest in early music led her to Bremen, Germany, where she studied baroque violin with Veronika Skuplik at the Hochschule für Künste. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree under the guidance of Prof. Midori Seiler at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen.

Her career has been shaped by numerous musicians, including Juan Luis Gallego, Vera Martínez Mehner, the Cuarteto Quiroga, Enrico Onofri, Hiro Kurosaki, and Philippe Herreweghe, with whom she has had the good fortune to study or be mentored by.

She has recorded for several German, Spanish, and Austrian radio and TV broadcasters, both as a soloist and with small chamber music ensembles. Additionally, she has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in Europe, such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Brucknerhaus Linz, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, and the Prinzregententheater in Munich. She has also appeared at renowned festivals like the Oude Muziek in Utrecht, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik, Musikfest Bremen, and Trigonale in Austria.

Currently, her most important projects are her two ensembles, Marsyas Baroque and I Zefirelli, with whom she spends most of her time developing new musical ideas and touring primarily in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. Both ensembles are prizewinners of some of the most relevant competitions in Europe and are currently sponsored by prestigious institutions such as Eeemerging and the German Orchestra Foundation.

María is frequently invited to perform with ensembles such as Oltremontano, Weser Renaissance, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Bremer Barockorchester, and Urgent Music, to name just a few
